The Knicks are taking on the Pistons in Detroit for Game 6. Here are the best player props to consider for Jalen Brunson on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best Jalen Brunson Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
The Knicks are 1.5-point underdogs against the Pistons, with an o/u of 212.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are the latest lines for Brunson on DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 28.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 three-pointers.
The Knicks were unable to close out the Pistons in Game 5 at Madison Square Garden. Detroit now has the chance to defend its home court and force a Game 7 back in New York. It was by far Jalen Brunson’s worst game of the series, which played a big role in the New York loss. Brunson had scored 30 or more points in each of the first four games of the series before dropping just 16 points in Game 5. It was a terrible shooting night for Brunson, going just 4-for-16 from the floor and only hitting one shot from beyond the arc. The Pistons had a great defensive game plan for Brunson, and the whole Knicks’ offense seemed thrown off by it. There was not a lot of movement when New York had the ball, and often OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges were forced to drive to the basket and shoot contested shots because Brunson and Towns were largely taken out of the game.
In addition to the poor play for most of the game, Brunson also got injured in the final minutes of the fourth. He tweaked the ankle that had already been bothering him, taking him out of the game for a key stretch. Brunson did return to the game in the final minute, though. He told reporters that he was fine and it should not affect his play in Game 6. Only time will tell if Brunson is close to 100%, but he is certainly set to play and will want to redeem his Game 5 performance. This is somewhat reminiscent of last year’s first-round series against the 76ers, where the Knicks had a bad shooting night in a potential clincher in Game 5 at home and lost. They followed that up with a Game 6 win over the 76ers in Philadelphia to take the series. Jalen Brunson had 41 points in that series-clinching win, and he will want to put on a similar performance in Detroit on Thursday night.
My favorite Jalen Brunson prop for this game is for Brunson to have over 28.5 points. Prior to the awful shooting night in Game 5, he cleared this number in each of the first four games of the series. Brunson also cleared this number in eight out of the 13 postseason games that the Knicks played last season. Brunson loves the pressure of the postseason and should have a good response to what Detroit threw at him in Game 5. The Knicks should have a response that makes their offense more fluid, and Brunson should do a better job getting to the free throw line. As long as the ankle allows him to play his normal minutes, he should get over this number.
