Somehow it’s already the last day of April. That’s wild.
To celebrate the end of the first full month of the MLB regular season, DraftKings has a nine-game MLB featured DFS slate that kicks off at 6:35 p.m. ET in Baltimore. Let’s take a look at the top value picks for tonight’s action on the diamond.

SP Noah Cameron, Kansas City Royals at Tampa Bay Rays, $4,000
I just can’t say no to a pitcher priced at the bare minimum.
Cameron is a former seventh-round pick from the 2021 Draft and he’s currently listed as the Royals’ fifth-overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. Cameron has never thrown a single pitch in the majors, yet he has had a lot of success at the Triple-A level in both 2024 and 2025. All told, in 14 starts and 76.2 innings, the left-hander owns a 2.58 ERA and he’s averaged a tantalizing 10.4 strikeouts per nine. There’s no guarantees that Cameron will be able to carry those statistics over to the real thing, but again, at his salary, there’s not a ton of risk here.
The matchup also helps. While the Rays are known for exploiting platoons with the best of them, Tampa’s left-handed bats have been much better than their right-handed bats so far this season. That’s led to some pretty crazy splits. The Rays rank fifth in baseball in wRC+ against RHPs (119), but 22nd versus LHPs (78). In fact, the team comes into Wednesday’s slate slashing .207/.284/.314 with a modest .107 ISO when opposed by a southpaw. Gross.
OF Heston Kjerstad, Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees, $3,400
Kjerstad, the former second-overall pick, is getting everyday at-bats in the Orioles’ lineup thanks to injuries to both Tyler O’Neill (neck) and Colton Cowser (thumb). The surface numbers are not pretty, as Kjerstad is batting a paltry .186 with just a 66 wRC+, but I’m here to tell you that things aren’t as bleak as they seem with the one-time top prospect. Yes, the 26-year-old has been awful in left-on-left matchups, yet he’s actually held his own against RHPs — he’s just been incredibly unlucky. In his 57 plate appearances within the split, Kjerstad sports a .286 wOBA. However, his expected wOBA in those PAs is a much more encouraging .401.
Carlos Carrasco ($5,700) has pitched to a 8.64 ERA on the road so far in 2025. He’s also surrendering 1.75 opponent home runs per nine and a 12.0% barrel rate. You can stack against the 38-year-old without any hesitation.
OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Arizona Diamondbacks at New York Mets, $3,300
I won’t sugarcoat it. Gurriel has been horrendous to begin 2025, though he is still the best Gurriel brother in the majors after Yuli was designated for assignment by the Padres on Tuesday. His slow start should also make Gurriel a bit of a variance play on tonight’s slate.
In this spot, I’m going to bank on the larger sample winning out in the end. Not only has Gurriel been an above-average hitter by wRC+ throughout every season in his time in MLB, but he’s also crushed left-handed pitching, owning a .294 average and an .817 OPS within the split. Huascar Brazoban ($4,000) will open this contest for the Mets, yet lefty Brandon Waddell ($4,000) will pitch a bulk of the innings. Waddell has a 6.41 FIP for his career and he hasn’t thrown a pitch in MLB since 2021. I’m not all the impressed.
