A loaded 30-team, 15-game slate is on tap for Wednesday across Major League Baseball. Several must-see matchups are on deck, including Giants vs. Padres in San Diego this afternoon. Later, the Yankees and Orioles wrap up the final game in their series, while the Diamondbacks hope to earn a road win against the Mets.

Tyler Anderson more than 4.5 strikeouts thrown
Tyler Anderson serves an important role for the Angels, a team with lackluster pitching depth. The hurler is a true innings eater, capable of tossing six frames on any given night. In 2024, he led the team with 179.1 innings of work. That doesn’t mean the 35-year-old is all quantity, no quality. Through five starts, the lefty has recorded a 2.60 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 22 strikeouts.
Los Angeles’ ace is poised for success this afternoon against a vulnerable Mariners lineup. This season, Seattle has struck out 9.03 times per game, the sixth-highest mark in baseball. Over his last 20.2 innings pitched against the M’s, Anderson has whiffed 21 batters. Securing a handful of K’s shouldn’t be too difficult for the veteran on Wednesday.
Aaron Judge more than 1.5 total bases
In a career filled with accolades, 2025 might be Aaron Judge’s best campaign yet. The two-time MVP has come out of the gates scorching hot, leading baseball with a .412 batting average. Combined with nine home runs and 29 RBIs, and it’s hard to imagine a better possible April for the outfielder. He’s shown no signs of slowing down, launching a first-inning homer last night vs. Baltimore.
Other than Yankee Stadium, Judge has hit more career home runs at Camden Yards (46) than any other ballpark. One of those came off of tonight’s starter, Cade Povich. The second-year pitcher has looked off all season, posting a 5.04 ERA. That doesn’t bode well heading into a matchup with baseball’s greatest hitter. All it’ll take is one Judgian blast to go over this total tonight.
Carmen Mlodzinski more than 2.5 earned runs allowed
The Pirates have lost four of five games, bringing their record to 11-19. Among the many reasons for Pittsburgh’s poor start, pitching depth stands out. Paul Skenes is terrific, while Andrew Heaney has been one of the best signings by any team this winter. After those two, this rotation starts looking bleak. Carmen Mlodzinski has been rocked this season, coughing up 17 runs over 22.0 innings (6.95 ERA). Having spent the last two years as a reliever, the 26-year-old hasn’t shown much promise as a starter.
Better days are ahead for the right-hander, but that’s unlikely to be the case on Wednesday. Pittsburgh will host the Cubs tonight for a date with one of baseball’s best lineups. Chicago is averaging a league-leading 6.03 runs per game. That’s due in large part to the play of Kyle Tucker, arguably the frontrunner for National League MVP. A surging offense vs. a struggling pitcher? It’s impossible to go under on Mlodzinski’s earned run total tonight.
Jackson Chourio more than 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs
After ending last season on a hot streak, expectations were high for Jackson Chourio entering 2025. So far, it’s been a good, not great month for the outfielder. Through 29 games, he’s hit .281 while powering six home runs. Unfortunately, his .295 on-base percentage leaves much to be desired. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Chourio leads the league in at-bats (128). That’s led to quite a few opportunities to collect counting stats.
Few matchups in baseball are more promising than a game agains the White Sox. Chicago’s pitching has been somewhat respectable, allowing just the 15th-most runs per game (4.38). Still, it’s hard to trust a group that spent all of 2024 getting knocked around by opposing lineups. Tonight’s starter, Shane Smith, has been solid (2.30 ERA). However, Chourio has recorded at least two hits + runs + RBIs over his last four outings. Another stellar day at the plate is within reach for Milwaukee’s budding superstar.
George Springer more than 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs
It’s been a shaky start for the Blue Jays, who have had issues producing runs. Toronto ranks 27th in scoring this season, relying on a handful of stars to carry an otherwise mediocre lineup. One of the team’s few standouts has been George Springer. The veteran is slashing .313/.394/.494 while accounting for two homers and 12 RBIs.
For the first time in nearly two years, Lucas Giolito will take the mound. While the Red Sox are expecting a solid season, it’s always difficult to come back strong from injury. An experienced leadoff hitter such as Springer is the kind of player that could give anyone fits. Over 83 career games vs. Boston, Springer is batting .307 with 56 RBIs. That level of success makes the 35-year-old worth considering on Wednesday.
Corbin Burnes less than 17.5 outs
The Diamondbacks made a major splash this offseason when they signed Corbin Burnes to a six-year, $210 million deal. Thus far, the former Cy Young winner has yet to find his groove. Through 26.2 innings of work, he’s surrendered 12 earned runs (4.05 ERA). Those numbers are respectable, but it’s not at the level fans have grown accustomed to seeing from the right-hander.
Unfortunately for the D-Backs, they’ll have to find success tonight against one of baseball’s hottest teams. The Mets have been unstoppable lately, reeling off ten wins over their last 12 games. New York has had success against Burnes, scoring 11 total runs over their last two meetings with the hurler. A patient, deep lineup that can put up runs in a hurry? It’s difficult to envision a lengthy start tonight, even a former All-Star.
