The Celtics and Magic continue their first round series with Game 5 in Boston on Tuesday. The Celtics hold a 3-1 series lead and will advance with a victory in Game 5. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Boston is an 11.5-point favorite for Game 5 and this contest presents a total of 198.5 points.
Below, I dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for Tuesday’s Game 5 between the Celtics and the Magic on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best Celtics vs. Magic Player Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Jayson Tatum O 42.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120)
Tatum has been a man on a mission since returning from the one-game absence due to a bone bruise in his wrist. In his first two starts back, Tatum is averaging 36.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game against the Magic, and he has easily cleared 42.5 PRA in both these games. Jrue Holiday (hamstring) missed these past two games and the veteran will remain out for Tuesday’s Game 5 as well.
In the 18 starts Tatum has made without Holiday this season, Tatum’s usage has increased to 32.3% and he is averaging 27.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. Closing out Orlando tonight is a must for this beat up Boston team, and Tatum should have another huge performance of over 42.5 PRA.
Wendell Carter Jr. U 0.5 Made Three-Pointers (+105)
At this plus-money price, Carter is a very appealing bet for this under. Outside of a rare showing in Game 2 in which the center went 3-for-3 on three-pointers, Carter Jr. hasn’t hit one other three-pointer in this series. This season, Carter is only averaging only 0.5 made three-pointers on 2.3 attempts per game.
This results in a low 24.4% on three-pointers and the Celtics are a brutal matchup for outside shooting, as they are limiting their opponents to the third-lowest three-point percentage and third-fewest made three-pointers per game this season. Carter Jr. should be favored for this under and is a must-bet at these +105 odds.
Anthony Black U 0.5 Made Three-Pointers (+110)
Just like Carter Jr., Black should have been favored for this under and must be backed at this +110 price. While Black has provided a nice spark off the bench for the Magic in this series, he has been terrible from deep, making only one of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc. Black is only averaging 0.8 made three-pointers on 2.5 attempts per game this season, and he is only logging 17.0 minutes per game in this series with Boston.
With tonight being do-or-die for Orlando, it should use a very tight rotation that could result in even less playing time for Black off the bench. Plus, as noted above, the Celtics are an elite defense at defending the outside shot and obviously, competing in TD Garden on the road in a close out situation isn’t easy. In this tough spot, Black finishing with zero made three-pointers is likely.
