The Knicks are taking on the Pistons at Madison Square Garden for Game 5. Here are the best player props to consider for Jalen Brunson on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Jalen Brunson Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

The Knicks are 5.5-point underdogs against the Pistons, with an o/u of 213.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are the latest lines for Brunson on DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 29.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers.

The Knicks can clinch the series with a Game 5 win over the Pistons on Tuesday night. It has been a competitive series, but after stealing both games in Detroit, New York can clinch the series comfortably in five games. The Knicks won the two games in Detroit by a combined three points so despite being up 3-1 in the series, they aren’t dominating the Pistons by any means. The major difference in the series has been the Knicks having the Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns 1-2 punch in the fourth quarter. Despite how great Cade Cunningham is, that 1-2 punch is better than what the Pistons can offer. That has made the difference in these tight games down the stretch, pushing them in New York’s favor.

Jalen Brunson has been fantastic against the Pistons all season. In their final matchup of the regular season, Brunson was still working his way back from his injury and only played 29 minutes. Excluding that game, Brunson has scored 30+ points in all seven games he has played against the Pistons. That is a total of 231 points scored in seven games, for an average of 33 points per game against Detroit. Despite Dennis Schroder being one of the more pesky defenders in basketball, Brunson has consistently had huge performances against Detroit this season. In a close-out game like this, he should want to keep the ball in his hands and have another big performance.

My favorite prop for this game is for Jalen Brunson to have o29.5 points. He has hit this number in seven out of eight games against the Pistons this season, including all four postseason games so far. The Knicks had two close-out games against the 76ers last season in the opening round of the playoffs. Despite losing the first in Game 5, Brunson scored 40 points in that game. He then scored 41 points in the following game, where the Knicks did close out Philadelphia.

In these types of games, Brunson wants to be in control of the offense and wants the team to live or die with his shot-making ability. The game being in New York should also take some of the pressure off of the officials, so they are more willing to give Brunson calls. He averages a free throw per game more at home than on the road this season, and that should be amplified even more in the postseason. The officials let the teams play really physical basketball in Game 4, but at Madison Square Garden, there will be more pressure to make the calls and send Brunson to the free-throw line. All of these factors should result in pushing Brunson over his points prop for this pivotal Game 5.

Best Bet: Jalen Brunson o29.5 Points (-120)
