Major League Baseball has a big 10-game slate this Tuesday with several Opening Day starting pitchers headlining a star-studded slate of matchups. With 20 teams to choose from in the primary MLB DFS player pool, there are plenty of great options to consider. Lots of those big names with high ceilings also come with hefty salaries, though, so let’s take a look at some less expensive plays that still bring plenty of upside this Tuesday. In this post, we’ll swing by the bargain bin and grab three MLB DFS Bargain Plays for this Tuesday, 4/29/25.
The contests lock on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. ET when the Rays and Royals start the action in Tampa. The remaining nine games are separated into three waves of three games each. The final wave wraps up with the Marlins and Dodgers in the second game of their series from the West Coast.

SP Bowden Francis, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox, $7,300
The starting pitching options on Tuesday’s slate are pretty deep overall, and Francis offers a great ceiling for an option under $7,500. He took a loss in his last start in Houston, failing to complete five innings for the first time this season. He only ended up with 3.1 fantasy points in that outing, but before that, he had 14+ fantasy points in three of his four outings this season, including each of his two home starts.
At Rogers Centre, Francis has allowed just three runs in 12 innings with a .175 batting average against, a 0.92 WHIP., and 3.98 xFIP. He has pitched better at home than on the road throughout his career, and he’ll look to continue that trend on Tuesday in Toronto as he takes on the Red Sox. It will be his third career start against Boston after facing them three times as a reliever. In his 14 2/3 innings against them in his career, he has yet to allow a run while holding them to six hits with 11 strikeouts.
The Red Sox offense has been hit or miss this season, and with how well Francis has done against them in the past and been at home this year, he’s a great value play for MLB DFS this Tuesday.
OF Jordan Beck, Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves, $3,500
Getting the (projected) second hitter in a lineup at Coors Field is always enough to get MLB DFS players’ attention, and Beck has been outstanding over the past few weeks as one of the few bright lights in a dismal Rockies’ start to the year. Beck smashed five home runs in a three-game span last week, racking up 17, 30, and 37 fantasy points. He started this series on Monday with a pair of hits and 12 more fantasy points on Monday.
The 24-year-old Beck has shown an intriguing blend of power and speed in the minors, with 25 homers and 20 stolen bases in 2023. Last year, he struggled and hit just .188 after joining the Rockies with three home runs and seven stolen bases. This year, he looks much more ready to contribute and could be a great “post hype sleeper” breakout the rest of the season. The Rockies haven’t been getting much production from their other outfield options, so look for Beck to keep getting playing time while he keeps crushing, and hopefully, he stays so affordable near the top of the batting order.
3B Caleb Durbin, Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago White Sox, $3,100
Another recent call-up who has made a splash since joining his MLB team is Brewers’ 3B prospect Caleb Durbin. After coming to Milwaukee in the Devin Williams trade from the Yankees, Durbin was outstanding in spring training, but still started the year at Triple-A. He hit .278 with two homers, three stolen bases, and a .355 wOBA in his 13 games at Triple-A before joining the Brewers regular starting lineup 10 games ago.
Since joining the Brew Crew, Durbin has been hitting ninth as a “second leadoff” hitter, which has allowed him to be on base in front of the powerful heart of the Brewers’ batting order. He has a home run, a stolen base, five runs scored, and five RBI in his 10 games with Milwaukee, going 8-for-32 (.250) with an average of 6.8 fantasy points per game. He and the Brewers are in a great matchup against the White Sox, who play on using Tyler Gilbert ($5,200) as an opener in front of Bryse Wilson ($5,200). The Brewers are a great lineup to get some exposure to in this matchup, and Durbin brings a good ceiling with both power and speed potential at this affordable salary.
