Jimmy Butler Injury Update for Game 4 vs. the Rockets

UPDATE 4/28/25: There is no minutes restriction for Butler, but his playing time will depend on how he feels.

UPDATE: Butler will play Monday, per Chris Haynes.

Butler ($8,200) missed the Warriors’ Game 3 win over the Rockets with a pelvis contusion, but the veteran is expected to return for Monday’s Game 4, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. With Butler returning, Jonathan Kuminga ($4,200) should move back to the bench and handle a small role after starting in place of Butler in Game 3.

Since being traded to Golden State at the deadline in February, Butler has been tremendous, averaging 18.2 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. The veteran has especially been a difference maker on the defensive end, with the Warriors ranking first in the NBA in defensive rating since acquiring Butler. With the wing on the floor, Golden State’s defensive rating has been at an outstanding 102.7, which would easily be the best defensive rating in the league if it was their average for the season.

Golden State is 25-8 with Butler active and with the news that he is expected to play in Game 4, the Warriors have moved to a 4.5-point favorite over Houston on DraftKings Sportsbook.
