There will be plenty of energy in the air as the Houston Rockets travel to Golden State to face the Warriors in Game 3, with the series tied at one win apiece. Alperen Sengun has been a huge story of the series thus far and will now be suiting up for the first road playoff game of his young career.
It is important to note the uncertain outlook of Jimmy Butler leading into this matchup. The Warriors star took a hard fall in the previous game and is listed as questionable due to a pelvic contusion. His status will shift the outlook of the game.
The Warriors enter as 3.5-point favorites and -162 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. Houston holds +136 odds of getting the outright victory, with the game total set at just 205.

The biggest concern entering this matchup from Golden State’s perspective was the rebounding battle. The Warriors closed the regular season ranked 15th in opponents’ rebounds allowed, with Houston among the league’s most elite rebounders. This has been on full display at the start of the series with the Rockets winning the rebounding battle 52-36 in the series opener and 47-33 in Game 2. Sengun has been a huge part of this effort and has been a reliable part of the offensive attack as well.
Sengun tallied 36 combined points, rebounds and assists in the series opener and 40 combined stats in Game 2. This comes after a regular season in which the Turkish big man averaged 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Golden State is limited in its frontcourt talent, and Sengun has a notable size advantage over Draymond Green. Expect Houston to lean on the big man throughout, and for Sengun’s usage to be increased in an enemy environment.
Alperen Sengun to Record 30+ Points & Assists (+265)
To take a bit of a bigger swing, I like Sengun to lead the offensive charge completely for the Rockets. The rollercoaster experience of Jalen Green is a significant concern, and very well could hit a low point in his road playoff debut. Sengun has a much higher floor for what he provides on a game-by-game basis, in addition to the matchup advantage.
Sengun finished with 26 points and one assist in the opening game of the series and 17 points with seven assists in the second game. Look for him to build off this and increase the output to 30+ as he did 18 times in the regular season. This includes once against the Warriors.
The +265 odds rightfully indicate this is a big swing, but Sengun has raised his game in the postseason and has not been called on enough. Look for his usage to expand and for the Rockets to play through him in the post at a more prominent rate. He will continue to have the size advantage to back down and create on his own, and has the playmaking skills to punish double teams. The Turkish big man has impressed early in his playoff debut, and I like his chances of recording 30+ combined points and assists for the first time in his playoff career tonight.
