The Edmonton Oilers head back home to Canada for Game 3 of their opening-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings tonight. In an 0-2 hole, Connor McDavid and Co. certainly didn’t expect the series to start out like this, but they’ll look to pull closer in a must-win contest tonight.

The Kings, meanwhile, look great but won’t have the luxury of playing on their home ice tonight. Will they take a commanding 3-0 grasp on the series, or will their opponents battle back? Find out with this Oilers vs. Kings prediction and pick for Game 3.

Oilers vs. Kings Game 3 prediction, pick

The Kings were Moneyline favorites in Games 1 and 2 at home, but now that they hit the road, the odds look a little different for Game 3. DraftKings Sportsbook lists Los Angeles as +124 underdogs on the Moneyline while they’re -205 favorites to cover the +1.5 puck line. The Oilers are now Moneyline favorites in Game 3 at -148 odds and +170 against the -1.5 spread.

Through the first two games of this series, the Kings are scoring at will. They tallied six goals in each of the first two games and forced the Oilers to swap from Stuart Skinner to Calvin Pickard in net. It didn’t really matter seeing as Pickard also let a puck slip by in Game 2, but it’s clear Edmonton is in full-blown panic mode in regard to their defense.

Overall, the scoring is plentiful between these two teams. Game 1 included a shocking 11 goals, while both sides combined to light the net eight times in Game 2. The Oilers’ defense can’t stop anything right now, while the Kings remain on fire heading into tonight’s contest. While Los Angeles might regress a bit away from home, they’re clearly seeing a wide-open net right now and should score a couple of times.

Between their red-hot offense, the talent on Edmonton’s roster, and the 19 goals through two games of this series, over the 6.5-goal game total feels like tonight’s top pick at +105 odds.

Best bet: Game Total Over 6.5 Goals (+105)
