Jaguars acquire No. 2 overall pick from Browns

The fireworks started early in the 2025 NFL draft, as the Cleveland Browns have traded out of the No. 2 pick, as the Jacksonville Jaguars have moved up from No. 5. The Jaguars have also parted with second and fourth round picks in the 2025 draft, along with a 2026 first round pick. They will also receive a fourth and sixth round pick in this draft, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Jaguars are trading up for who many consider the best player in the draft, Travis Hunter, the two-way college superstar that won the Heisman Trophy while playing both wide receiver and cornerback.

The Jaguars offense and QB Trevor Lawrence get a huge boost, as Hunter paired with Brian Thomas Jr. at wide receiver make the new Jaguars triumvirate one of the most potent on paper.

The beauty of Hunter, though, is that he can be a lockdown cornerback on defense, although there is some uncertainty as to how much he will play at both positions.

With Jacksonville expending a ton of draft capital to move up three spots, Hunter may not play every snap, but he should be on the field for the most impactful ones.
