Dodgers C Will Smith status Friday 4/25/25 vs. Pirates

UPDATE: Smith is back in the lineup for Friday and is batting sixth.

Will Smith played the entirety of Tuesday’s 10-inning game vs. the Cubs. He did bang his wrist tagging Ian Happ at the plate in the sixth inning. As a result, Smith will get the day off on Wednesday.

The Dodgers are off on Thursday, then return home for a six-game homestand against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins starting Friday.

Austin Barnes ($2,000) will replace Smith in the lineup on Wednesday and bat ninth in the order. Barnes has only had 19 plate appearances this season, slashing .105/.105/.158 with a 36.8% strikeout rate and paltry .053 ISO.
