Rockets head coach Ime Udoka acknowledged his team’s defensive effort was not the issue — it was offensive execution that let them down, as the Rockets shot under 40 percent from the field and just 20.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Golden State’s offensive engine remained steady. Jimmy Butler chipped in 25 points with an all-around stat line, but it was Curry who sparked the team’s fast start and delivered timely buckets to keep the Rockets at bay.
With the Rockets already on the brink of losing home-court advantage, expect Curry to remain aggressive early and often in Game 2 as the Warriors attempt to put the series firmly in their control.
