SP Kris Bubic, Kansas City Royals vs. Colorado Rockies, $8,900
You have to be impressed with the way that Bubic has started the season for the Royals. While the 27-year-old probably isn’t quite a good as his 1.88 ERA suggests, a 2.71 FIP is nothing to be ashamed about. Nor is a 26.2% strikeout rate or a 14.5% swinging strike rate — the 10th-highest qualified mark among starting pitchers. Bubic has twice managed to exceed 29.0 DKFP in 2025 and I like his chances of accomplishing that feat a third time on Tuesday. Fortunately for prospective owners, the reasoning has as much to do with matchup as it does Bubic’s recent form.
I probably don’t have to keep reminding people how poorly the Rockies hit away from Coors Field, but I will. As a team, Colorado is slashing .188/.240/.286 within the split with league-worst marks in wOBA (.238) and wRC+ (48). As if that wasn’t enough, the Rockies also sport a 32.5% strikeout rate on the road, which is unsurprisingly the highest rate in MLB. It’s bad times outside of the altitude, guys.
OF Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Tampa Bay Rays, $6,100
While I’d have to imagine that some of the issues that have plagued Zack Littell ($7,000) so far in 2025 have been due to how much he’s pitched in the hitter-friendly confines of George M. Steinbrenner Field, the overall numbers are pretty putrid. Littell comes into tonight’s matchup with the Diamondbacks in possession of a 5.48 ERA and a 5.56 FIP. The right-hander is also allowing an eye-popping 2.35 opponent home runs per nine. The real red flag has been Littell’s complete inability to get out left-handed bats. To wit, lefties are hitting .353 with a .441 wOBA off of the 29-year-old.
Corbin Carroll is left-handed. Corbin Carroll is also in the process of becoming a perennial MVP candidate. In 104 plate appearances this season, Carroll is slashing .323/.394/.645 with seven home runs, 19 RBI and four stolen bases. Carroll is 97th percentile in both expected wOBA (.433) and expected slugging (.652). Simply put, the 24-year-old is a star. He should be in line for a huge performance this evening.
SS Jacob Wilson, Athletics vs. Texas Rangers, $3,300
It remains to be seen if Wilson is a great real-life MLB player, but he’s kind of perfect for DFS. While we all want power and upside in fantasy, Wilson’s ability to put the ball in play is a massive boost to his viability. In 82 plate appearances, Wilson’s produced 79 batted ball events — the sixth-most of any player in the league. That’s what happens when you have a 3.7% strikeout rate and haven’t drawn a single walk all season. It also helps that the free-swinging Wilson is batting .354 with a 152 wRC+.
Tonight, Wilson and the Athletics will face-off with Patrick Corbin ($6,000). The last time the A’s saw a left-handed starter back on April 12, it was Wilson who hit in the team’s leadoff spot. I expect he’ll do that again this evening. Wilson doesn’t have a huge sample at the MLB level against LHPs, yet in 32 plate appearances, the rookie is hitting .300 with a .233 ISO and a 150 wRC+. At this price, in a matchup with a washed-up Corbin, Wilson could be one of the best values on the whole slate.
