The 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin today as 16 teams start their quest to hoist Lord Stanley once June rolls around. The festivities begin as the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues face off in the opening game of the postseason.
There are tons of ways for bettors to get in on the action on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here’s how the public is betting the first-round series between the Jets and Blues.
How the public is betting Jets vs. Blues in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs
Ahead of game one, DraftKings Sportsbook’s series winner markets list the Jets as -190 favorites to win their first-round series. Winnipeg won the Presidents’ Trophy this season with 116 points, so it’s no surprise they’re heavily favored to send their wild card matchup packing.
Betting splits tell a lot of the story where public sentiment is concerned, and it appears most bettors are firmly planted on one side for these matchups. Overall, 79% of bets on DraftKings Sportsbook have been placed on the Jets to win this series, while a staggering 94% of the handle is on Winnipeg to take the opening round. It’s not shocking by any means that the public leans so heavily towards their side, but those numbers are a bit surprising given the -190 odds on the Jets to win.
On the flip side, DKSB lists the Blues at +160 underdogs to stun Winnipeg and start the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs with a massive upset. The betting splits show that roughly one-fifth of the bets are on St. Louis at 21% of total wagers, but a miniscule 6% of the handle is on the Blues. They’re underdogs for a reason and it would be a wild outcome, but given the Jets’ postseason history and the Presidents’ Trophy curse, perhaps these bettors will find themselves with big payouts when the series is said and done.
