Throughout WWE history, different wrestlers have worn sneakers in the ring. From Reebok to Nike to Jordan, it has been done, but this generation of WWE superstars has taken it to the next level. Although sneaker culture has grown lately, wrestlers have sporadically worn various types of footwear over the years. In the 1990s, Bret Hart wore Nike Air Griffey’s and different Jordans throughout his career, including the Jordan True Flights in 2010. In the early 2000s, John Cena wore the Reebok Pumps, making it a key part of his style.
WWE has two TV shows per week, with Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown; wrestlers turn it up a notch with their gear for the biggest event of the year: WrestleMania. Before WrestleMania 41 this weekend, let’s look at which superstars have worn unique sneakers recently.
Roman Reigns
Since Reigns returned in 2020, he has appeared in countless sneakers, making waves on social media. But each time, Reigns has worn a different pair of Jordans. His most recent pair was the unreleased Nigel Slyvster Air Jordan 4 ‘Brick by Brick’. He wore those at Madison Square Garden on March 11.
A few of the most noteworthy pairs that Reigns has worn in the ring include the Fragment Air Jordan 1 and Trophy Room Air Jordan 1s. But Reigns wrestled in a unique pair of Jordan wrestling boots at WrestleMania 40, labeled “Air Reigns”. Each time Reigns enters a WWE ring, he is either wearing a pair of Air Jordan sneakers or wrestling in something different. You will rarely see Reigns on TV in the same pair of sneakers as the previous week. On January 6 at the Monday Night Raw Netflix premiere, he wore a customized pair of Kobe 8s in his match against Solo Sikoa.
Jey Uso
One of the catalysts for superstars wearing sneakers while wrestling has been Jey Uso. At this point, he has been wrestling in Nike Air Force 1s for over a decade. Jey Uso recently revealed in the latest episode of Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” that he was the first member of his family to be involved in sneakers. During Reigns’ first run in the WWE as “The Big Dog,” he wore more traditional wrestling gear, but with the help of Jey Uso, his style changed and evolved. The low-top white Air Force Ones have been his primary pair, but he has also worn Jordan 1s and Nike Dunks throughout his career.
Kofi Kingston
Kingston has also been one of the wrestlers who have been competing in sneakers for a long time. He has worn Nike’s, Jordan’s, and even custom Air Jordan 1s on a consistent weekly basis in WWE. A pair that Kingston has worn many times in 2019 was the Air Jordan 1 “Origin Story”. Famous shoe designer Mache has designed sneakers for many superstars over the years, including many times for Kingston.
Seth Rollins
Most of the previous wrestlers that I mentioned above have made their mark wearing Nike or Jordan sneakers, but Rollins has added a unique flair. In 2023, Rollins wore MSCHF’s big red boots and their yellow collaboration with Crocs. These shoes fit Rollins’ style perfectly, as his wardrobe is unpredictable from week to week in WWE. Each time Rollins appears on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown, he always makes an out-of-the-box footwear choice.
Dominik Mysterio
Mysterio has worn countless Travis Scott Jordans in the last few years. He has appeared in the Jordan Jumpman Jack’s and the Air Jordan Travis Scott “Reverse Mocha” and “Sail” colorways the most. Travis Scott has made multiple appearances for WWE in 2025 and has released merchandise collaborations with the company.
