Their home dominance is undeniable, with a 75% win rate as favorites this season (6-2), and they’ve won 8 of their last nine games at Globe Life Field. The Rangers’ pitching staff, ranked seventh in MLB with a 3.46 ERA, has been locked-in, while their offense, led by Corey Seager’s team-high .288 batting average, continues to find ways to score. Seager’s been especially hot recently, hitting .444 over his last five games, solidifying his role as a crucial part of this attack.
On the mound for the Rangers is Kumar Rocker, who’s posted a rough 7.94 ERA and 1.94 WHIP through 11.1 innings this season. Despite his struggles, Rocker’s been relatively effective against left-handed hitters, holding them to a .235 batting average. While the numbers suggest regression is likely, Rocker’s facing an Angels team that’s never seen him before, giving him a potential edge. The unknown factor against a shaky Angels lineup could work in his favor, especially with his slider showing promise in small sample sizes.
