He’s been slightly underwhelming at the plate, but it’s still very early in the season. Soto has proven to be one of the best hitters in baseball, so his stats should see an increase as he gets more comfortable in the blue and orange.

Juan Soto 0.5 runs (-105)
Although Soto is batting just .231 through 65 at-bats, he’s still getting on base at a .367 rate. The Mets superstar is one of the best offensive players in baseball, and it shows even when he’s not hitting the ball.
Soto commands the box and is one of a few players that seems to have control over nearly every at-bat. Regardless if he’s hitting the ball, he’s working walks and getting on base, which gives him an opportunity to score.
Scoring a run takes a portion of the responsibility out of Soto’s hands. He bats second and right ahead of Pete Alonso, who has had a strong start to the season. Alonso is batting .365 with 21 RBIs, which ranks second in MLB.
That portion of responsibility is shared among Alonso and hitters behind Soto. That said, Soto can still tally this run by himself if he hits a home run. The 26-year-old has three home runs, but two of those have come in the past three games.
Soto is one of the league’s best hitters and will bounce back from his slow start. Whether it’s a home run or allowing Alonso to drive him in, Soto’s runs scored prop is a good deal for tonight’s series opener against the Cardinals.

What makes Soto such a talented offensive player is his ability to dictate an at-bat. Some players get walked, but Soto earns those walks. He’s regularly one of the best at doing so and this season is not different.
Soto has 14 walks, which is just two behind the most in MLB this season. He’s led the league in this category three times and was four walks shy of doing it a fourth time last season.
Even when he’s in a slump, Soto can consistently reach base via walks. That’s why it’s such a good play on a night-to-night basis. It slots in as the second play simply because the value isn’t as great at -145. Bettors won’t get as much juice if they play this line, but it’s still a worthy prop.
