That can be overwhelming, so allow me to narrow things down. Here are my best bets for tonight’s slate on the diamond.
Atlanta Braves at Toronto Blue Jays
Under 7.5 (-112)
The Braves have been swinging the bats much better of late, with the return of Sean Murphy being a huge catalyst. Still, this lineup doesn’t quite look as scary as you’d think — especially with Marcell Ozuna (hip) leaving Canada prior to first pitch in Monday’s contest. For the season as a whole, Atlanta is hitting just .225 with a 94 wRC+, as the likes of Matt Olson, Michael Harris II and Jarred Kelenic continue to struggle at the dish. The Jays haven’t been much better. Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have yet to hit a home run, which is a massive part of the reason that Toronto ranks 26th in MLB in ISO (.105).
I have my doubts that the fortunes of these two offenses will change much on Tuesday. We’ve got a battle of aces at Rogers Centre, as Spencer Schwellenbach will square-off with Kevin Gausman. The former has lived up to his dark horse NL Cy Young status early in 2025, allowing only a single earned run across his first 20.0 innings of work. In fact, if you go back to July 27 of last season, Schwellenbach owns a 2.03 ERA with a 2.78 FIP over his last 15 starts. He’s simply established himself as one of the National League’s best arms. There’s zero debate.
Gausman is a little more interesting. After several seasons of dominance, the 34-year-old took a step back in 2024. Gausman’s velocity dipped and so did his strikeout rate, and the end result was a 4.71 xERA. That fastball velocity has still been a little inconsistent in 2025, yet Gausman was able to rack up 17 whiffs and 10 strikeouts in eight innings of work against the Red Sox last Wednesday. The RHP possesses a 2.75 xERA over 19.1 total innings and there’s some positive signs that Gausman might actually have a little left in the tank.
Detroit Tigers at Milwaukee Brewers

The fact of the matter continues to be this: If the Tigers are going to hit well, they’re going to be one of the best teams in the American League. Well, after losing twice to the Dodgers to start 2025, Detroit has won 10 of its last 14 games. Is it a coincidence that the Tigers also own baseball’s seventh-best wRC+ at 116? No. It is not.
On Tuesday, Detroit will send Jack Flaherty to the mound, who has looked exceptional through his first three starts of the season. Across 16.1 innings, the veteran RHP possesses a 1.62 ERA and a 2.73 FIP, thanks primarily to impressive marks in strikeout rate (31.8%) and swinging strike rate (11.9%). These outings have come against good competition, too. There was one start versus the White Sox mixed in, but Flaherty’s other two appearances have come against the Dodgers and the Yankees, with the 29-year-old tossing 5.1 scoreless innings in a matchup with the latter last Wednesday. Needless to say, Flaherty is in a good spot.
I have less confidence in Quinn Priester. After not making the Red Sox Opening Day roster, Priester was acquired by the Brewers out of sheer injury desperation. He survived his first outing in a Milwaukee uniform last week, yet not without posting a 5.70 xERA. For his career, Priester has registered a 6.02 ERA at the MLB level. His presence gives the Tigers the clear advantage at starter. That’s more than enough for me to back Detroit as slight road favorites.
