Golf Best Bets: Top Finishing Position Props for the RBC Heritage

The PGA TOUR is hosting the RBC Heritage this week, which is one of the eight Signature Events this season. Since 1969, the RBC Heritage has been played at Harbour Town Golf Links (par 71, 7,213 yards, POA Trivialis greens) in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and as a Signature Event, this tournament features all of the PGA TOUR’s best players competing for a $20 million purse. This is a field of 72 golfers and there will be not cut this week.

Below, I have featured some finishing position bets to consider for the RBC Heritage.

J.T. Poston for a Top 30 finish (-110)

Growing up about four hours north of Hilton Head, Poston knows Harbour Town very well and has contended here numerous times. The 31-year-old has finished T8 or better in four of his six starts at Harbour Town, including a T5 last season, in which Poston opened the RBC Heritage with an eight-under 63, which tied for the lowest score of the Signature Event. Poston ranks third among this field in strokes gained per round at Harbour Town, only trailing Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay.

This season, Poston has only missed one cut in 11 starts and he has carded four top 30 finishes. Poston also ranks sixth in par five performance, which is excellent news for Harbour Town, as four of the past five winners at this par 71 have finished the week top 10 in par five efficiency. While Poston has struggled at Signature Events this season, he should add another quality finish to his resume at Harbour Town this week and is a safe investment for a top 30.

Sahith Theegala for a Top 30 finish (+115)

Theegala has flourished at Harbour Town the last two years, finishing T5 and T3. The 27-year-old shot under par in all eight of these rounds, including a six-under 65 to conclude the 2023 RBC Heritage. Theegala now returns to Hilton Head on the heels of a T29 at the Masters last week. At Augusta National, he gained strokes with both his irons and putter, including 4.5 strokes on approach, which is a season-best for Theegala in a major category.

Hopefully this is a sign of more things to come for Theegala as a ball striker and, if he can in any way replicate this performance at Harbour Town, Theegala should have no issues finishing inside the top 30 at this venue he loves.
