Nationals SS CJ Abrams Injury Update: 4/11/25 vs. Marlins

CJ Abrams missed the first two games of the Dodgers series due to tightness in his thigh. On Friday, he left the game in the fourth inning.

While there has been no official word yet as to the specific injury and how it happened, Adams did steal second base in the top half of the inning and may have injured himself then.

Prior to exiting, Abrams went 0-for-1 with a walk, strikeout and stolen base.

The loss of Abrams is a huge blow for the Nationals’ offense, as his power/speed combo cannot be replicated. Abrams hit 20 home runs and stole 31 bases last season.

Amed Rosario and Paul DeJong are the likely replacements for Abrams. Rosario has a career ISO of .126, but he has stolen at least 10 bases in each of the last four seasons. DeJong offers little speed, but has a career .189 ISO. The strikeout rate is high, though, and he hasn’t hit over .230 since 2020.

Alex Call and James Wood will likely bat leadoff while Abrams is out.
