This brave young man who came forward in a viral article about his mental health struggles has garnered plenty of attention this week. Timely, too, seeing as he’s heating up at the plate just in time for the Red Sox’s road trip. Here’s my favorite Jarren Duran prop this evening based on my game prediction for Red Sox at White Sox.

Jarren Duran 2+ total bases (-105)

Duran is hitting the ball hard this season, with an 89th percentile exit velocity and a 9.4% barrel rate, both of which scream extra-base hits. He’s not just a slap hitter—his solid power combined with his elite 94th percentile sprint speed makes him a double threat. Against a pitcher like Martin, who’s posted a 5.73 ERA and a 12.5% barrel rate (indicating plenty of hard contact allowed), Duran is primed for a big night. Martin simply doesn’t have the stuff to shut down hitters, especially when they’ve got the kind of power Duran brings to the table.

Looking at Martin’s xERA of 8.44, it’s clear he’s been getting hit hard, and tonight, he’ll be facing one of the fastest players in the game. Duran’s aggressive baserunning (he already has 1 stolen base run in 2025) only increases his chances for extra-base opportunities. Add in Martin’s mediocre K% (8.2%) and whiff % (14.8%), and Duran’s likelihood of making solid contact—and turning that into 2+ total bases—is sky-high.

As for the other props, Over 1.5 Hits (+180) and Over 0.5 Stolen Bases (+275) might catch your eye, but let’s be clear—2+ Total Bases is where the money’s at. Duran’s a serious threat to drive the ball hard and take extra bases. Between his 89th percentile exit velocity and 94th percentile sprint speed, he’s got all the tools to clear this line. Martin’s ERA is an ugly 5.73, and he’s letting hitters feast on him all season long. With Duran’s combination of power and speed, this bet is about as locked in as it gets tonight.
