MLB Prop Bets for April 9, 2025
Kevin Gausman under 17.5 outs recorded +140
I’m willing to take a shot here on under 17.5 outs recorded for Gausman, especially at +140. He hasn’t been great in his two starts, posting a 3.97 ERA with an xERA of 4.54 and a 5.45 FIP. His strikeout numbers, while still early, have completely cratered. He has just a 3.1 K/9 through 11.1 innings, which included zero strikeouts against the Mets through 5.1 innings. His pitch arsenal has been condensed to just three pitches: a four-seam fastball, a splitter, and a slider. His four-seam fastball has been thrown 53% of the time, and the Red Sox are crushing that pitch thus far. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .371 wOBA and a .201 ISO in 2025. If we add in their 2024 numbers, it jumps to a .409 wOBA and a .268 ISO. Winds won’t be strong, but they will be blowing out toward right field. The Sox will likely have five lefties in the lineup tonight. At +140, I’m comfortable taking the under on Gausman’s out total.

Milwaukee Brewers over 5.5 runs scored -115
Antonio Senzatela should be playing the lottery because he’s been a lucky man. How on earth does someone allow 19 hits but zero earned runs?!
That’s exactly the kind of luck Senzatela has had. Because of that, he enters this game with a nice, shiny 0.00 ERA but an xERA of 6.69. That luck is going to run out soon, and tonight could be the night. This will be his first home start, and he’ll face a Brewers team that’s starting to hit lately. We haven’t seen much of Senzatela since 2022, the last time he threw more than 12.1 innings. When that did happen, his numbers were abysmal, and he ended the year with a 5.07 ERA and a 5.24 xERA. Both sides of the plate hit him hard, which isn’t a great sign when you’re a contact pitcher. The Rockies’ bullpen won’t provide much relief either, as they lead the league in home runs allowed (9) and have the second-lowest strikeout total (28).

Junior Caminero over 1.5 H/R/RBI -105
George Steinbrenner Field is a much friendlier ballpark to hit in than Tropicana Field. Because of this, it’s worth looking into offensive overs, particularly when the matchup calls for it. Caminero against Yusei Kikuchi looks like one of those spots. Kikuchi gives up a lot of home runs—he allowed 25 last year for a 1.28 HR/9 and has already allowed three through 12 innings this year. Caminero will have the handedness advantage over Kikuchi, which has me leaning toward the over on his 1.5 H/R/RBI.
