Two struggling squads will meet tonight when the 4-6 Guardians host the 2-8 White Sox. Cleveland, the reigning AL Central champions, has seen most of its hitters struggle this season. That doesn’t include Jose Ramirez, who currently leads the team with a .310 batting average. Can the 32-year-old lead his club to a victory over Chicago?
The Guardians are favored in tonight’s contest (-185), with the over/under set at 7.5 runs. Ahead of Wednesday’s matchup, here’s my favorite Jose Ramirez player prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jose Ramirez O 0.5 RBIs (+165)
Even while playing on an offensively limited roster, Jose Ramirez knows how to drive runners in. Since 2022, the third baseman’s 330 RBIs trail only Aaron Judge (368), Pete Alonso (352) and Matt Olson (345). That level of production has continued this season; through nine games, J-Ram has crushed four homers while driving in six runners.
Cleveland’s face of the franchise has a promising matchup on paper tonight vs. Chicago. The South Siders will send Sean Burke to the mound; 2025 has been a mixed bag for the rookie. After a dominant outing on Opening Day, the right hander coughed up six runs in 4.1 innings vs. Minnesota. Last September, he held the Guardians to one run over three innings of relief work.
This season, Burke has thrown his fastball 35% of the time and his curveball 19% of the time. Ramirez is hitting .333 and .286 against both pitch types, respectively.
As good as the six-time All-Star is at the plate, he can’t do it alone. Fortunately, Steven Kwan is one of baseball’s most dependable leadoff hitters. So far, the outfielder leads Cleveland with a batting average of .316 and an on-base percentage of .366. There’s a good chance the 27-year-old puts himself or another runner in scoring position for Ramirez.
RBIs are never the easiest prop bet, as they are heavily dependent on the performance of an entire lineup. Still, the Kwan-Ramirez tandem has gotten to more experienced starters than Sean Burke. A locked-in J-Ram is difficult to avoid at +165 odds.
