We make our way to Augusta National Golf Club (par 72, 7,555 yards, bentgrass greens) for the Masters this week, which is the first of four major championships this season. There will be 95 golfers competing at the Masters and this major features a limited cut, with the top-50 and ties advancing after the first two rounds.

Cameron Smith + Adam Scott + Phil Mickelson + Lucas Glover to make the cut (+466)
Smith is coming off a T9 at LIV Miami last week, which is his best finish of the season on the circuit, and the Australian has been very reliable at Augusta National throughout his career. Smith has never missed a cut in eight starts at the Masters and five of these finishes have been top-10 results. Evident from this impressive resume, the former Open Championship is a great match for Augusta National, mostly due to his prowess as a short game player. Smith has gained strokes ARG in all of his starts on the LIV Golf tour this season, which bodes extremely for the Masters, as each of the last four winners of this major have finished the week top-six in SG ARG.
Scott continues to be one of the best cut makers in the game of golf. In his last 17 starts worldwide, the Australian has only failed to make the cut once. Scott’s resume at Augusta National is also stellar. The veteran won the 2013 Masters and he has only missed two cuts in 23 starts at Augusta National.
Mickelson is another wily veteran who should advance through the cut this week. The lefty has won three jackets and has made the cut in 28 of his 31 starts at Augusta National. Just two years ago, Mickelson finished runner-up at the Masters, which is the 13th time he has finished inside the top-10 at Augusta National. Mickelson ranks 12th in the LIV Golf league in points this season and has gained strokes on approach and with his driver in three consecutive starts entering this week.
Lastly, Glover has made six-of-10 cuts at the Masters — including a top-30 finish each of the last two years — and the 45-year-old returns to Augusta National in outstanding form. In his last two starts, Glover has finished T3rd at THE PLAYERS Championship and T8th at the Valspar Championship, while shooting under par in all eight of these rounds. Additionally, Glover gained strokes in every major category at both these difficult Florida events, which is a telling sign that his game is firing on all cylinders right now. Glover ranks 18th in total strokes gained this season and absolutely should find himself inside the cutline come Friday afternoon.
