Best Sleeper Picks to Win The Masters

The best golfers in the world are all at Augusta National for The Masters. This is a look at some sleepers who could win the event despite their long odds on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Masters Tournament

The Masters Tournament is played at the famous Augusta National Golf Club. Augusta National is a par-72 golf course and ranges 7,555 yards. The greens are Bentgrass and some of the most challenging in the world. The Masters field features all of the best players in the world. From the PGA TOUR’s Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele to LIV’s Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm. This will be the first time this season that the two tours will come together and all of the best players in the world will be in the same field. Scottie Scheffler has won two of the past three Masters and he will be the man to beat once again.

Here is a look at my sleeper picks for The Masters:

Viktor Hovland +4000

It has been a bizarre last couple of seasons for Viktor Hovland. In 2023, Hovland won the TOUR Championship, the BMW Championship, the Memorial and the Hero World Challenge. He also finished in the top ten at some of the Tour’s most prestigious events, The Masters, THE PLAYERS, The Arnold Palmer Invitational and The PGA Championship. Hovland was poised to be the next big thing in golf, but everything went wrong in 2024. Hovland got a new swing coach and his game fell apart. He missed the cut at three of the four majors and skipped some major events because he knew his game was in such a bad place. However, Hovland found something towards the end of the season. He finished T2 at the St. Jude Championship and ended up finishing 12th at the TOUR Championship, despite starting further back in the pack.

It has been another strange start to the season for Hovland in 2025. After two mediocre performances to start the year, Hovland missed three straight cuts at the Genesis, API and PLAYERS. After missing those three cuts, he won the next week at the Valspar, his first win on Tour since the 2023 Tour Championship. Now Hovland returns to Augusta, where he has been great in the past. Hovland was the first-round leader at the 2023 Masters and went on to finish T7.

Hovland is a great sleeper pick because he is an all-or-nothing player. In his last four events, he has a win and three missed cuts. He is liable to implode at any time, making him a risky pick for a top-10 or top-20 bet. However, he is still one of the most talented players in the world, and if everything comes together, he is capable of winning this tournament. Hovland has four top-ten finishes in his last 12 major starts. Despite his inconsistent game this year, he ranks 10th on Tour in strokes gained approach to green. If everything clicks, watch out for Hovland this week.

Will Zalatoris +6000

Augusta National is one of the most predictive courses in golf. Typically, the same players play well here every year and players that can’t crack the code never do. Will Zalatoris has been one of the best performers at The Masters over the last few seasons. Zalatoris has only played in The Masters three times in his career, and in those three starts, he has finished second, T6 and T9. Zalatoris is one of those players who has always risen to the occasion in majors. In 14 career major starts, Zalatoris has seven top-ten finishes. He has not consistently been one of the best players on Tour over the last few years, but he has always been a factor in the majors, especially The Masters.

Over his last 36 rounds at Augusta, Will Zalatoris has gained 2.55 strokes per round. That is the second-best mark in the field behind only Scottie Scheffler, the winner of the past three Masters Tournaments. Zalatoris hasn’t done anything special on Tour so far this season, but he has been consistently solid. In seven starts in 2025, he has made all seven cuts and has had three top-25 finishes. The way that Zalatoris performs at Augusta every year, he is liable to win one eventually, so at 60/1 odds, it’s worth a shot on him to win.
