UPDATE: Wells broke his wrist and is “awake, alert and moving his extremities,” per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Jaylen Wells was stretchered off the court after a rough fall on Tuesday, April 8 against the Hornets.

The rookie guard went up for a dunk on a fastbreak in the second quarter before KJ Simpson undercut him from behind. Wells fell hard and hit his head on the ground.

Simpson was assessed a flagrant two foul and ejected from the game as a result.

Wells left the game in a stretcher and immediately was taken to a local hospital. The game paused until another ambulance could arrive in the event of another serious injury.

He finished with three points, five rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes.
