Masters week is officially upon us, and it feels like Christmas for all golf fans. The azaleas are in full bloom and pimento cheese sandwiches are being prepared as we speak. It’s time for the best sporting event of the year.
The iconic Augusta National Golf Club will host the 89th edition of the Masters Tournament, and measures as a 7,555-yard par 72 with Bentgrass greens. There will be 95 golfers in the field this year, which will be cut down to the top 50 and ties after 36 holes.
Below, I have outlined three of my favorite DraftKings plays for the week.

Collin Morikawa ($10,500)
Morikawa is off to a great start to his 2025 season, as he’s already posted three top-10 finishes, including a pair of runner-ups at both the Sentry and Arnold Palmer Invitational. Many in the industry were giving him flack for “choking away” the API to Russell Henley, but winning golf tournaments on the PGA TOUR is extremely difficult, and simply putting yourself in position weekly is all you can ask for.
Morikawa is checking a lot of boxes for me this week, as he’s already a two-time major champ, has elite course history at Augusta and is hitting the ball as well as anyone on the PGA TOUR right now. So far in five career Masters starts, Morikawa has yet to miss a cut, while posting finishes of solo fifth, T10 and T3 across his past three appearances.
Over his past 24 rounds, Morikawa ranks No. 1 in this field in SG: Ball-Striking and No. 2 in both in SG: Tee-to-Green and SG: Approach, trailing only Scottie Scheffler and J.J. Spaun in the latter two categories. In addition, there is just something about major championships that bring out the best in Morikawa, as he’s now finished T10 or better in nine of his 20 career major starts (45%), including the aforementioned two wins.
Both Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are going to be chalky this week, and for good reason, but Morikawa is absolutely on the short list of guys who can truly win this tournament, and I will gladly take the discount we’re getting on him at $10,500.
Will Zalatoris ($8,300)
There is arguably no other course on the PGA TOUR where course history is stickier than at Augusta National. Simply put, the guys who play well here seem to continuously do so year over year. Zalatoris has to be at the top of that list, considering he’s made just three career starts at ANGC and posted finishes of T9, T6 and solo second.
Zalatoris has not had a particularly great season to date, but he’s yet to miss a cut in nine starts, while finishing T26 or better four times. We also have enough evidence now to know that Zalatoris raises his baseline in major championships, and especially ones where we’re dealing with long, difficult courses where long-iron play is accentuated.
Despite the somewhat slow start to the year, Zalatoris was T7 heading into the weekend at THE PLAYERS Championship just two starts ago, so he’s clearly not too far away from putting it all together. His irons have been steady all season, as he ranks 13th in this field in SG: Approach over his past 24 rounds. That is more than enough for me to trust him in this spot.
At just $8,300, the floor/ceiling combination for Zalatoris is simply too high to ignore at a course where he’s had this much success.
Patrick Reed ($7,300)
Speaking of course history, there are not many golfers on earth who play Augusta National better than Captain America himself. Since 2015, Reed has made 10 starts at the Masters, and in that time he’s missed just one cut while posting a win (2018), three top-10s, a T12 and a T22.
Despite Augusta being known as a ball-striker’s paradise where heavy hitters such as Scottie Scheffler, Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm have all won at in recent years, Reed gets it done with his elite touch both on and around the greens. Since his move to LIV Golf in 2022, he’s has felt a bit like a forgotten man, but this is someone who’s missed just eight cuts in 41 career major starts.
In addition, Reed has also had a very strong start to 2025, posting a pair of top-10 finishes on the DP World Tour back in January, before parlaying that into two additional top-10s across his past three LIV starts in Hong Kong and Miami (last week). When you combine both his recent form and course history at Augusta, Reed is one of the best value plays on the board at just $7,300.
