It is time for one of the best weeks of the year in golf as the best players in the world head to Augusta for The Masters. This is a look at the best prop bets to consider for Rory McIlroy on DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Masters Tournament
The Masters Tournament is played at the famous Augusta National Golf Club. Augusta National is a par-72 golf course and ranges 7,555 yards. The greens are Bentgrass and some of the most challenging in the world. The Masters field features all of the best players in the world. From the PGA TOUR’s Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele to LIV’s Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm. This will be the first time this season that the two tours will come together and all of the best players in the world will be in the same field. Scottie Scheffler has won two of the past three Masters and he will be the man to beat once again.
Here is a look at my favorite Rory McIlroy prop for The Masters:
Rory McIlroy Top 5 (+150)
Rory McIlroy has been one of the best golfers in the world for the past 15 years. He has won basically everything you can win in the game of golf, except a green jacket. McIlroy has won four majors, THE PLAYERS Championship, three WGC events, 14 European Tour events, 22 PGA TOUR events and five Ryder Cups. The only thing that has really evaded him in the game of golf is a win at The Masters. McIlroy has been a Masters win away from accomplishing the career grand slam since his 2014 Open Championship win. That is 10 years of chasing a win at Augusta National for McIlroy, and he has come close many times. In 16 career starts at The Masters, McIlroy has 12 top-25 finishes, seven top-10 finishes and four top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish in 2022.
So, despite his inability to seal the deal at The Masters, McIlroy has finished inside the top five in 25% of his career trips to Augusta, something most golfers would kill to do. There are indicators that McIlroy is poised for another top finish this year. He has been in great form this season and doing everything that needs to be done to perform well in this tournament. McIlroy has only played in five tournaments on the PGA TOUR this season, but he has won two of them. He won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and THE PLAYERS Championship, two of the most competitive events in this early part of the season. McIlroy has easily been the best player on TOUR in 2025 and sits atop the FedEx Cup standings. Even in McIlroy’s three other events that he has played in this year, he has finished T-17 or better, including a T-5 finish in Houston in his most recent event.
If McIlroy plays his best golf, there is no one except perhaps Scottie Scheffler who could beat him. McIlroy hits the ball as far as almost anyone on TOUR and ranks first in strokes gained off the tee. He has also been great on and around the greens this season, ranking fourth in scrambling and fifth in one-putt percentage. Rory McIlroy has never won two events in a season prior to The Masters, making this the best form of his career coming into this tournament. Scottie Scheffler has not quite been on his A-game since returning from surgery, and that opens the door for McIlroy to finally complete his career grand slam. He has never been able to seal the deal at Augusta, but if he plays anywhere close to his best golf, he should comfortably finish inside the top five at The Masters for the fifth time in his career.
