Before a very limited Monday slate of just two games, Sunday night serves up a tasty slate of eight games for NBA DFS enjoyment. The main course gets started at 6:00 p.m. ET when rosters lock and four games tip off. With 16 teams to choose from, there are lots of great options to consider for your lineup and some key NBA DFS stacks to build around.
As always at this point in the regular season, keeping track of the daily injury report will be key. There’s a long list of notable players who are questionable, so be sure to pivot and adjust as necessary leading up to the start of Sunday night’s action.
The NBA DFS main slate includes a variety of contests and pay-out structures on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $100K Fadeaway [$25K to 1st].
Utah Jazz at Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks play at the third-fastest pace in the NBA this season and the Jazz have played at the third-fastest pace in the NBA over the last 15 games. This game has the highest over/under on the slate as a result, and the Jazz bring a ton of value to this contest with so many key contributors out. Lauri Markkanen (knee), John Collins (ankle), Walker Kessler (concussion) and KJ Martin (illness) have already been ruled out.
Core Plays: The key parts of the Jazz stack are the dynamic young guards who carry the load with so many big men out. Isaiah Collier ($6,200) has 30+ fantasy points in three straight games on the team’s current trip with a high point of 47.75 fantasy points against the Rockets last Wednesday. Keyonte George ($6,500) has 30+ fantasy points in four of his last five games but hasn’t reached 35 fantasy points in any of those games. Kyle Filipowski ($7,300) is also boom-or-bust but has shown a high ceiling with Kessler out.
Value Options: With Markkanen and Kessler out, Brice Sensabaugh ($4,900) has posted 20+ fantasy points in six straight games and is getting plenty of playing time. Johnny Juzang ($4,000) had 17 points and 22.25 fantasy points on Thursday, and Micah Potter ($3,500) was also back in the mix, chipping in nine points and 21.25 fantasy points in his first game with the Jazz since mid-March. It’s also his birthday this Sunday if you’re into that kind of narrative.
San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers
The Spurs are still without Jeremy Sochan (back) in addition to De’Aaron Fox (finger) and Victor Wembanyama (blood clot), who are out for the season. They are in a favorable spot on the road against the Trail Blazers on Sunday night. The Spurs rotation can be tricky to figure out and different players get minutes, but there are a few strong options that make sense in this contest.
Core Plays: Since Fox went down, Stephon Castle ($7,400) has become the Spurs’ go-to option on offense. He has at least 34 fantasy points in five of his last six games with at least 49 fantasy points in three of those games, including each of his last two. He fell just one assist short of a triple-double against the Nuggets on Wednesday and followed that up by falling just one rebound short of a triple-double against the Cavs on Friday. He’s a great place to start your Spurs stack in his role as the focal point. Devin Vassell ($7,300) has been less consistent but also has a high ceiling.
Value Options: As affordable options to build around Castle, Chris Paul ($5,100), Keldon Johnson ($5,100) and Harrison Barnes ($4,400) are all contributing veteran options. Johnson returned from a back injury on Friday but Barnes still played 29+ minutes and produced over 25 fantasy points for a third straight game. Julian Champagnie ($4,100) has also been heating up with multiple three-pointers in four straight games and over 22 fantasy points in five of his last six.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Milwaukee Bucks
The Pelicans have been a source of big-time value since losing so many stars earlier in the season. That trend will continue on Sunday night against the Bucks, and the rotation could be thinner than ever since Jordan Hawkins (back) is still out, and he’ll be joined by Kelly Olynyk (rest). Jose Alvarado ($6,500; calf) is also questionable, which would leave no players over $6,000 available.
Core Plays: Bruce Brown ($5,500) only scored one point and had 9.5 fantasy points on Friday but prior to that posted over 27 fantasy points in three straight. Yves Missi ($5,400) has 24+ fantasy points in five straight with over 32 fantasy points in three of those matchups.
Value Options: The most reliable bargain for the Pelicans is Karlo Matkovic ($4,600), who has 20+ fantasy points in six straight and should get some extra run while Olynyk rests. Especially if Alvarado is out, Elfrid Payton ($3,800) also brings a very high ceiling while playing on his second 10-day contract with the team. He has 10+ assists in three of his five games since joining the team. Keion Brooks Jr. ($4,300) has shown his high ceiling with 40 fantasy points against the Hornets last Saturday and started Friday’s game against the Lakers on his way to 19 fantasy points. At the minimum salary, Jamal Cain ($3,000) has played 21 and 27 minutes in the last two games with the Pelicans, producing double-digit points in each contest and totaling 14.25 and 23.25 fantasy points.
