Friday’s Mariners vs. Giants contest may have been one of the most electric games of the young season. There were four ties and seven lead changes on the way to a 10-9 walk-off by the Giants off the bat of Willy Adames.
It was an uncharacteristic game for both squads. Seattle came into the day under the Mendoza line as a team alongside its elite pitching staff. San Francisco’s lineup has been hot to begin the year, but 10 runs is far above the norm. I doubt we’ll get a repeat contest in terms of crooked numbers on the board, but that doesn’t rule out another tight and exciting game

Robbie Ray Over 6.5 Strikeouts Thrown (-110)
To put it as Giants announcer Mike Krukow would, Robbie Ray has major ownage over this Mariners lineup.
The former Seattle hurler has faced eight of the nine batters in tonight’s lineup and mowed them all down. Those eight are a combined 9-for-56 in their careers against Ray, with 16 strikeouts. A .161 batting average vs. a 28.6% strikeout rate against an already flailing lineup bodes quite well for Ray.
Ray only recorded four punchouts across 5 1/3 innings in his first trip to the bump in Cincinnati, but that was a much stronger lineup in a livelier ballpark. I’d expect the former Cy Young winner to look like his award-winning self tonight.
Heliot Ramos 1+ Home Runs (+750)
Bryce Miller was nothing short of elite last year. Despite struggling somewhat in his first start this year, tonight I’d expect him to look more like the pitcher that recorded a 2.94 ERA across 180 innings last season. However, when a hitter is hot, you watch out.
Ramos, San Francisco’s breakout star from last season, is off to a scorcher to begin the year. He’s already smacked three long balls and three doubles in seven total games. Though he hasn’t faced Miller before, I think the prolific fastball hitter has a good chance to take one for a ride to left field today.

Bryce Miller Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-160)
As I said before, I think the Miller we saw in his first start vs. the Athletics will be an aberration. This Giants lineup has been hitting over their heads to begin the year, and someone has to bring them down to earth. It might as well be the talented 26-year-old Mariners hurler.
On top of his immense talent, the regression due for San Francisco, and the general conditions of Oracle Park, there’s the experience factor. Only Willy Adames and Matt Chapman have ever faced the righty, and for just five total at-bats. That does not bode well at all for this Giants lineup.
If anyone can tag Miller in this contest, my money is on the Sun God. Otherwise, there’s going to be a lot of shaking heads on the way back to the dugout.
Donovan Solano 1+ Hits Recorded (-155)
The prodigal son returns. Donnie Barrels is in the lineup tonight against the team where he played the best baseball of his career. From 2019-2021, Solano recorded a .308 batting average in the orange and black and even won himself a Silver Slugger award.
Solano also happens to be the only Mariner with any semblance of success in his career against Robbie Ray. He’s 4-for-11 total, and tonight represents a great chance to break out of his 0-for-10 skid to begin the year. Though the juice is in favor of him getting a hit, I think the career success off Ray and the friendly confines of Oracle Park more than justify the value here.
