Few hitters in baseball can say they’re swinging the bat better than Jose Ramirez.
Going into his 13th year as a Cleveland Guardian, Ramirez is off to a scorcher of a start. He torched three home runs last night against the Los Angeles Angels and will look for a repeat performance tonight. It’s nothing new for one of the perennially underrated hitters in the game. For his career, he averages almost 70 extra base hits per season.
This will be J-Ram’s first turn in the batter’s box against the imposing young Angels hurler Jack Kochanowicz. Will he continue his flaming hot start to the year or be brought back down to Earth?
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Cleveland is the road favorite at -155, and the run total is set at 8.5. Below, I’ve highlighted my Jose Ramirez favorite prop bet for this contest.
Best Jose Ramirez Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
2+ Total Bases (+110)
This feels almost conservative for a guy that has racked up 22 total bases in six games. Kochanowicz has looked quite solid in his limited major league exposure. Ramirez, however, is on another level right now.
The major problem for the Angels with Ramirez is that you can’t pitch around him. The three batters around him in the lineup (Steven Kwan, Carlos Santana, Kyle Manzardo) are all off to strong starts this year. Pitch around him in the two spot, and he’ll be knocked home by Santana or Manzardo. Walking a guy who has 243 career steals only adds to the issue.
Kochanowicz will have to come into the zone against the perennial MVP candidate, and I expect Ramirez to do his damage. He might have well over two bases when the dust settles.
