All 30 MLB teams will take the diamond on Saturday, with the action getting started at 1PM EST. On a loaded 15-game slate, there’s plenty of matchups worth watching. This afternoon, the Dodgers and rookie Roki Sasaki will take on a dangerous Phillies lineup. Later on, Jacob DeGrom will make his second start of the season for the Rangers when they host the Rays. Before the start of today’s contests, here are three MLB bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Phillies ML (-110)
All eyes will be on Citizen’s Bank Park for the second of three games between two World Series contenders. The Phillies handed the Dodgers their first loss of the season on Friday, pulling out a 3-2 win. They’ll look to keep their momentum going tonight against Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles’ high-profile acquisition from Japan. In just 4.2 innings pitched over two starts, the right-hander has recorded a 5.79 ERA and a 2.79 WHIP. Obviously, those numbers are horrendous. Better days are in store..but maybe not tonight.
This Phillies lineup has made a habit of mashing against just about everyone. Last season, they ranked fifth in the league in runs scored (784). That offensive dominance has continued in 2025, thanks primarily to Kyle Schwarber (2025 wRC+ 204), Bryson Stott (154) and Trea Turner (136). That’s without mentioning names that have yet to heat up, such as Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm. With ace Aaron Nola on the mound, I’ll back Philadelphia against an unproven rookie.
Blue Jays ML (+105)
Following a disappointing offseason, the Blue Jays have gotten off to a solid 5-3 start. Driving this early success has been contact hitting; the team ranks seventh in batting average (.268). Those bat-to-ball skills didn’t come in handy yesterday afternoon in Queens. The Mets got to starter Kevin Gausman early and shut down Toronto’s lineup en route to a 5-0 win.
After Friday’s shutout, why should bettors go against one of the National League’s best teams? It all comes down to the matchup on the mound. Toronto will hand the ball to former New York pitcher Chris Bassitt. In 13.2 career innings against his old team, the right hander has allowed one run while striking out 16 batters. For the home team, Griffin Canning will get the nod. Despite a decent Mets debut last week in Houston, this is still the owner of a career 4.77 ERA. Given the disparity in pitching talent on display tonight, the Jays at plus-money offer clear value.
Braves -1.5 (-118)
The Braves destroyed the Marlins 10-0 last night, earning their first win of the season. Still, the vibes are not very high right now for Atlanta given its 1-7 record. A lineup loaded with All-Star talent has struggled, while the starting pitching (other than Spencer Schwellenbach) has disappointed. For a team with legitimate World Series aspirations, it’s difficult to imagine a worse possible start.
This is a scary squad to trust right now, but as any savvy bettor knows, uncertainty creates opportunity. Atlanta has won ten of its previous 15 meetings with Miami, eight different times by multiple runs. The Fish will hand the ball to Cal Quantrill tonight; the veteran surrendered six runs to the Mets on Monday. The visitors will counter with righty A.J. Smith-Shawver. While untested (seven career starts), the 22-year-old doesn’t need to be at his best to tame the light-hitting Marlins. Expect another comfortable victory for the Braves as they look to claw their way back into contention.
