I’ll be writing up a Duke vs. Houston preview and prediction before the game tips off tonight, but we once again find ourselves with an opportunity to bet college basketball’s most exciting player. And we’re lucky enough that it’s on a bright enough stage as the Final Four. The penultimate main event for the Maine Event, who’s hoping the ultimate main event looks like a National Title for the Duke Blue Devils. Kelvin Sampson and his bulldog Cougars have something to say about that, though. Houston’s defense certainly should give Flagg some trouble, but how much?

Best Cooper Flagg prop bet for Duke vs. Houston
Cooper Flagg 20+ points (-105)
The stage is set, and Cooper Flagg is primed to explode. Flagg is averaging 19.6 points per game this season, and when the pressure’s on, he’s been a consistent killer. His postseason scoring has been scorching, too, with an almost-identical 19.5 points per game in tournament play (including ACC), including a 42-point eruption against Notre Dame, setting a new record for Duke’s freshman class. This isn’t just a player who scores, this is a force who rises to the occasion when it counts.
Flagg’s efficiency is a huge factor here, too—especially against Houston’s ultra-disruptive defense. He’s shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.6% from deep, not to mention his 84.2% from the charity stripe. The man is a walking mismatch, and when it comes to this kind of big-stage matchup, his ability to score in multiple ways—whether it’s hitting tough jumpers, attacking the rim, or getting to the line—is going to be lethal. I expect a lot of it to happen at the line. Who better to get Tugler and Roberts in foul trouble than Flagg?
Let’s talk more directly about Houston’s defense. The Cougars are a top-tier team, but they’ve shown vulnerabilities that Flagg will be able to exploit. Houston is known for its suffocating paint presence, but they’ve had trouble with versatile, multi-threat players who can both stretch the floor and create in the paint. Flagg is all that and a bag of rebounds.
The Cougars have been strong on ball pressure and in limiting perimeter shooting, but against a player like Flagg—who can dominate inside and out—they might struggle to contain him. His free throw percentage alone should have him racking up points at the line, especially with his ability to get fouled in high-contact situations.
Houston’s defense will have a game plan to slow him down, but Flagg’s versatility, scoring ability, and clutch playmaking are simply too much. With the ball in his hands, whether he’s driving, shooting, or setting up teammates, Flagg will be a dominant force. His scoring ability, paired with his free throw acumen, means the 20+ points prop isn’t just realistic—it’s prime for the taking. Houston will struggle to contain him, and Flagg will show once again why he’s one of the most dangerous players left in the tournament.
