2025 has not been kind to Rafael Devers. Things started to spiral when the Red Sox signed Alex Bregman in February. The move pushed the 28-year-old to designated hitter, despite offseason claims that third base was his position.
A shoulder injury in spring training has only made matters worse, leading to an absolutely awful start at the plate. Devers still hasn’t recorded a hit after 19 at-bats, striking out a record 15 times in five games. Can Boston’s slugger turn things around?
The Red Sox enter tonight’s contest vs. Baltimore as favorites (-125), with the over/under set at 7.5 runs. Before the start of Wednesday’s AL East showdown, here’s my favorite Rafael Devers player prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Obviously, it hasn’t been an ideal start for Devers, or the Red Sox for that matter. Boston is currently 1-4, not looking anything like the American League juggernaut many analysts envisioned. Still, we’re two days into April. Baseball’s history is littered with playoff teams that struggled for most of the spring, let alone one week.
If Boston wants to come close to its World Series aspirations, it’ll need more production from Devers. A lot more. I’d be lying if I said fans shouldn’t be worried about the third baseman designated hitter. Things look absolutely rough for the All-Star at the plate right now. Injuries and bad body language don’t inspire much confidence, either.
You’ve heard enough about Devers’ putrid start. Why on Earth should anyone believe he’s capable of getting on base tonight? Simply put, this is the perfect spot for a breakthrough performance. The Orioles are sending starter Zach Eflin to the mound. While the right-hander is a solid pitcher, Devers is 6 for 16 with two home runs in this matchup. Last season, the Dominican hit .304 over 12 games against Baltimore.
We can’t ignore Devers looking absolutely pathetic at the dish. Regardless, if we started the season today, bettors would be hammering this prop. At plus-money, Boston’s much-maligned superstar is due for a productive night.
