It’s get-away day in MLB, which means a heavy dose of afternoon baseball action. However, there’s still a four-game evening slate on DraftKings starting at 6:35 p.m. ET with some big prize money up for grabs.
Let’s dive in and pick out some must-start assets for the night owls.

SP Zach Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies, $10,000
Don’t overthink this one. Wheeler looked like his usual self on Opening Day, tossing six innings of one-run baseball and only allowing two opponent hits. Even more encouraging? Wheeler’s average fastball velocity (96.0) was a tick higher than it was in 2024 and that translated into a massive 40.0% strikeout rate. The soon-to-be 35-year-old still has the juice. He’s one of the best arms in the league and, after throwing 97 pitches last week, Wheeler clearly has no early-season pitch count limitations.
His opponent tonight is also pretty amazing. The Rockies have long struggled away from Coors Field, but the team’s start to 2025 feels like a special level of awful. Entering play on Wednesday, Colorado is slashing .211/.259/.293 with a 45 wRC+ and a 30.8% strikeout rate that ranks second in MLB. Woof.
3B Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies, $4,800
Wheeler’s going to need some run support, right? Bohm isn’t exactly the highest upside DFS asset in a vacuum, but the former third-overall pick is clearly at his best when getting the opportunity to face left-handed pitching. In fact, for his career, Bohm sports a .207 ISO and a 134 wRC+ within the split, compared to a .111 ISO and a 91 wRC+ versus RHPs. Specific to 2025, Bohm is also tearing the cover off the baseball at the moment, with a 90th percentile expected wOBA (.452) and a 98th percentile hard hit rate (75.0%). Kyle Freeland ($6,000) would be wise to tread carefully with Bohm in this matchup.
OF Michael Conforto, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves, $4,000
Look, I’d obviously love to write up Shohei Ohtani ($6,400) here, but the reigning NL MVP is going to be tough to fit into the same lineup as Wheeler. Fortunately, there’s a ton of non-Ohtani left-handed bats on the Dodgers who project to be in a great spot on this slate. The reason? Bryce Elder ($5,000). With Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) on the IL, Elder has been called up to fill-in to the Braves’ rotation. If last year is any indication, this probably won’t go too well for Atlanta. Elder faced 121 LHBs at the MLB level in 2024 and allowed those opponents to combine for a .336 average and a .401 wOBA. Conforto’s been hot to start 2025, with a 163 wRC+ in his 20 plate appearances. He hit clean-up for Los Angeles on Monday with Freddie Freeman (ankle) sidelined. There’s a lot to like at a reasonable price.
