Lindor’s odds are moving because people are realizing just how good a bet this is. The All-Star has not had a good start to 2025 — even with the torpedo bats — though he did finally collect his first base knock of the season on Tuesday. Lindor was incredible from both sides of the plate in 2024, though he did showcase more power from the right-side in the form of a .282 ISO. No matter. This is far more about Connor Gillispie than it is about Lindor himself. Gillispie allowed a home run in his first start last Friday. Of course he did. This is a man who surrendered a whopping 1.75 opponent long balls per nine across 113.1 innings in Triple-A in 2024. I have a good feeling that Lindor gets one over the wall this afternoon.
Alec Bohm 1+ Home Run (+500)
Bohm is famously not a power hitter, though maybe that’s why he’s turned to the magic bats. In any case, the little pop Bohm has displayed over the course of his career has come against left-handed pitching. To wit, the former third-overall pick owns a .207 ISO versus LHPs in comparison to an underwhelming .111 ISO off of right-handers. Kyle Freeland, today’s starter for the Rockies, is a southpaw. Freeland also gave up 1.75 opponent home runs per nine across his 21 starts in 2024. You can see where this is going. Bohm’s hit the ball hard to begin 2025. He actually ranks in the 90th percentile of expected wOBA (.452) and the 98th percentile of hard hit rate (75.0%). That should finally translate to a dinger this evening.
