MLB Prop Bets for April 1, 2025
Arizona Diamondbacks over 3.5 runs -130
Will Warren won a rotation spot for the Yankees after they lost Gerrit Cole, Luis Gil, and Clarke Schmidt to injury. He performed decently during spring training, finishing with a 5.09 ERA and a 5.30 FIP. He does have strong strikeout potential, but home runs remain a concern. Last season, he posted a 1.98 HR/9 through 22.2 innings in the majors, and this spring, he had a 1.96 HR/9 through 23 innings. The Diamondbacks are hitting with significant power early this season, boasting a team ISO of .217, which ranks them sixth in the league. With winds blowing out in New York tonight, this should only amplify their advantage.
We don’t have much data on Warren, but both sides of the plate hit him hard last year. Lefties recorded a .434 wOBA against him, while righties were close behind at .422. Two of his primary pitches—a four-seamer and a sinker—have been crushed by the Diamondbacks. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .383 wOBA against his four-seamer and a .397 wOBA against his sinker, respectively.

Lars Nootbaar over 1.5 bases +120
Nootbaar has been on fire to start the season. Through four games, he’s slashing .462/.632/.923 with two home runs, five RBIs, and five runs scored. Tonight, he faces a fantastic matchup against Angels starter Kyle Hendricks. At this stage of his career, Hendricks is little more than an offspeed pitcher, relying heavily on a changeup (39%) and a sinker (35.6%). He struggled significantly against lefties last season, allowing a .370 wOBA, a 5.79 FIP, and 13 of the 21 home runs he surrendered. Nootbaar excels against changeups, posting a .477 wOBA and a .414 ISO against them last season. Batting atop the Cardinals’ lineup, he should have plenty of opportunities to exceed his 1.5 total bases tonight.

Kansas City Royals over 12.5 total bases -125
The Brewers are already getting clobbered in 2025. Their starters have combined for just 14 innings through the first four games, the fewest in the league so far. As a result, the bullpen has been burdened with a heavy workload, logging 19 innings. Tonight, they’ll send out rookie Chad Patrick to make his first start and second career appearance in the majors. We’ve only seen him throw one inning in his lone outing, but we know he relies primarily on fastballs. Last season, the Royals posted a .332 wOBA and a .195 ISO against that pitch. Kansas City is another team hitting for power early, with 12 extra-base hits through four games. Given the bullpen’s heavy usage, Patrick could be left vulnerable tonight, setting up the Royals to tee off.
