A scuffle broke out between the Timberwolves and Pistons in Sunday’s matchup that led to five players and two coaches being ejected from the contest. Suspensions by the league were inevitable after the dramatic altercation and ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting Tuesday that Isaiah Stewart has been suspended two games, while Naz Reid, Donte DiVincenzo, Ron Holland and Marcus Sasser have all been suspended for one game.
The Pistons aren’t playing Tuesday, but the Timberwolves are in action against the Nuggets and missing Reid and DiVincenzo creates a large void in Minnesota’s rotation. The Timberwolves are only a half game behind the Warriors for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, so this is an important game for Minnesota and its starters should see huge minutes with the team missing two key players.
In the lone game the Timberwolves were without both Reid and DiVincenzo this season, Anthony Edwards ($9,800) went off for 33 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals across 39.5 minutes vs. the Suns (59.25 FPTS). Furthermore, Julius Randle ($7,500) finished with 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals that night (51.75 FPTS). Both Edwards and Randle are great DFS targets Tuesday and Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($3,100) should see an expanded role off the bench, making him an elite punt for DFS. In that one game sans Reid and DiVincenzo earlier this season, Alexander-Walker posted a season-high 23 points in 35 minutes off the bench (31 FPTS).
