As a part of the eight-game NBA slate taking place tonight, the Indiana Pacers will host the Sacramento Kings in their second matchup of the season. The Pacers will need to do so without their starting center as Myles Turner has been ruled out for this matchup due to illness. In addition, Bennedict Mathurin will miss due to a sore left calf and Isaiah Jackson will remain out with his Achilles tear.
Turner is in the midst of another solid season averaging 15.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. His ability to space the floor offensively is a huge part of the Pacers’ style of play with Turner shooting a career-best 40.1% from beyond the arc on the highest volume of his career at 5.4 perimeter shots per game. This will be the ninth game he has missed this season.
Indiana got off to a slow start this season but have found their stride of late. They have won eight of their last 11 games and have climbed to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Sometimes getting hot at the right time is what can be most important, and the Pacers are doing just this. With just eight games remaining on their regular season schedule, it is wise to be cautious with Turner and all other key players.
Indiana will enter the matchup against Sacramento as five-point favorites and -198 on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Kings hold +164 odds on the Moneyline with the game total set at 235. Expect Pascal Siakam to see additional time as the primary big-man option and for Thomas Bryant and Tony Bradley to see expanded opportunities tonight.
