The road to the Final Four has one last stop. Auburn and Michigan State will battle in Atlanta tonight for the chance to win the NCAA Tournament’s South region. The top-seeded Tigers looked to be in trouble against Michigan on Friday. However, a 20-2 second half run led to the team’s third-straight victory and a ticket to the Elite 8. As always, Auburn’s March Madness fate depends on the play of Johni Broome. The senior has enjoyed a career-year, emerging as one of the biggest names in college basketball.

Best Johni Broome player prop bet for Sunday
Auburn’s leading man has been an absolute beast all season. Through 34 games, Broome has averaged 18.5 points and 10.8 rebounds while shooting 50.5% from the field. On defense, he’s chipped in with 0.9 steals and an SEC-leading 2.1 blocks per game. Add it all up, and you have one of the most dominant seasons in recent college basketball history.
It takes a special defense to slow down a true matchup nightmare. Michigan State might qualify; the school ranks fourth in adjusted defensive efficiency per KenPom. The Spartans thrive on the glass, recording the nation’s third-highest rebounding rate (56.4%). That could cause trouble for Broome, who delivers much of his damage by grabbing offensive rebounds.
There’s no doubt that MSU presents a unique challenge, perhaps the greatest Auburn has faced all season. Still, it’s impossible to fade Broome against anyone, even a defensive juggernaut. Boards might be harder to come by, but the 6’10, 235-pound Broome has a size advantage over most of the Spartans. Only 6’9 Jaxon Koehler stands any chance of guarding the big man, and that certainly won’t be easy. In a game that will be won down low, the Tigers will prioritize feeding their superstar on Sunday.
