Denver just welcomed back its three-time MVP after an uncharacteristic five-game absence and will be looking to create separation for the third seed in the Western Conference. The Jazz seek an entirely different kind of separation as the league leaders in a game of capture the (Cooper) Flagg.
The Nuggets have unsurprisingly won all three matchups against the flailing Jazz, all by double digits. I’d expect that dominance to continue as these two mile-high teams move in opposite directions. But how will the big Serbian feast?

In the aforementioned three matchups with the Jazz, Jokic has racked up 16, 10, and 22 boards. That tidy average of 16 boards per game is a fair bit above his season average of 13 per game. The Jazz allow plenty of rebounds on both ends of the floor; it’s no surprise this matchup has favored Jokic and his production on the glass.
Considering that Jokic played 38 minutes in their win over Milwaukee, I’m not concerned that the Joker will be held back in his minutes due to the injury. Realistically, the poor quality of this Jazz team is more likely to keep his minutes down.
Still, he won’t even need his full workload to make an impact on the glass. These Jazz are missing shots left and right while allowing plenty of boards.
