March Madness continues on Friday with four Sweet 16 matchups on deck. To get things started, #2 Michigan State will take on #6 Ole Miss. The Spartans are a two-way force, combining elite guard play with stellar front court defense. They’ll take on a Rebels squad that has found its groove recently, winning five of their last seven games. MSU’s hopes of advancing to the Elite 8 will depend on several factors, including the play of Jase Richardson.

Best Jase Richardson prop bet for Friday
If there’s one weakness on Michigan State, it’s an inability to create shots. The Spartans aren’t stocked to the brim with offensive talent a la Duke or Florida. That lack of creation makes Jase Richardson incredibly valuable. The guard has emerged as a go-to scorer for head coach Tom Izzo recently. Since February 21st, he’s recorded at least 15 points in seven of his nine appearances.
MSU’s freshman phenom hit a wall last Sunday against New Mexico, putting up only six points. Another letdown performance feels unlikely tonight against Ole Miss. Over their last three games, the Rebels have allowed at least 13 points to guards Denver Jones, RJ Davis and Nate Heise. Richardson is just as, if not more talented, than that entire list of names.
The best place to back Richardson might be on the glass; he’s snagged at least five boards in five of his last nine outings. Ole Miss has struggled in this regard, surrendering an SEC-worst 37.5 rebounds per game this season. In comparison, Michigan State owns the nation’s second-best rebounding rate (56.7%). Due to their small stature, it’s almost impossible for the Rebels to box out every Spartans player. That should lead to Richardson slipping through the cracks for a handful of rebounds.
