It’s Opening Day which means a couple different things if you’re an Angels fan. One, your arduous journey to return to the playoffs has started once again. Two, Mike Trout is currently healthy. That second one is actually a lot of fun even if you’re not a Los Angeles supporter.
Trout remains one of the best talents we’ve ever seen on a baseball field, yet his inability to stay healthy has likely ruined his pursuit of the MLB record books. No bother. Right now, we’re all just happy to see him in the lineup on Thursday.
Here’s my top Mike Trout prop bet on the DraftKings Sportsbook.

Mike Trout 1+ Home Run (+390)
Trout is only 22 long balls away from 400 in his career and I think that figure gets down to 21 by the end of the day. Again, Trout is healthy at the moment. While the counting stats haven’t been there in recent seasons due to a lack of volume, he’s always managed to produce in his limited playing time. To wit, in his 266 games since the beginning of 2021, Trout is slashing .276/.376/.575 with a .299 ISO and a .400 wOBA. It’s a span where the future Hall of Fame outfielder has hit 76 home runs in only 972 at-bats.
Need a sample that’s more recent? How about Trout hitting three homers and mustering a 171 wRC+ in his 52 plate appearances this spring? The 33-year-old remains one of the league’s most dangerous bats.
Sean Burke did not fare as well in Spring Training, pitching to a 7.90 FIP and surrendering 2.25 opponent home runs per nine in his four outings with the White Sox. Burke will be Chicago’s Opening Day starter, yet the man is less than a year removed from allowing 1.68 opponent home runs per nine in Triple-A last season. Are you starting to see a pattern?
