Although there weren’t many buzzer beaters during the first week of March Madness, there was one that took the world by storm. Maryland was down by one point, and the Terrapins’ star freshman big man Derik Queen hit a shot with one second left in the game against Colorado State. No. 4 Maryland will face No. 1 Florida tonight at 7:39 p.m. ET in the Sweet Sixteen.
Here is my favorite prop bet for Queen against Florida tonight.
Derik Queen 17+ Points (-120)
Queen has scored 17 or more points in three of his previous four games. Even though he is a freshman, Queen has continued to shine in the most significant moments of the season. You can get Queen to hit this scoring mark at -120 on DraftKings Sportsbook against the Gators.
This season, Queen has hit this total in 18 of the 35 games he has played in. Although Florida has been excellent this season, their strength has been its backcourt. The Gators will have Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu assigned to guard Queen.
Maryland is a +6.5 underdog against Florida, and if they want to upset the Gators, Queen will need to be heavily involved. This year, Queen’s field goal attempts have been up and down. But the last five times he has attempted at least 11 field goals, Queen has scored 17-plus points. Queen has made two three-pointers in two of his previous three games. If he can consistently knock down shots from long range, scoring 17 points should be doable.
