The Knicks face the Mavericks in New York on Tuesday night. Here are the best player props to consider for Karl-Anthony Towns on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best Karl-Anthony Towns Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
The Knicks are ten-point favorites against the Mavericks, with a total of 224.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are the latest prop bet lines for Karl-Anthony Towns: o/u 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 three-pointers.
The Knicks have been on an up-and-down ride since Jalen Brunson went down with an ankle injury almost three weeks ago. The team needed to find a completely new offensive identity without their star point guard. It took New York some time to adjust, but over the last couple of games, Karl-Anthony Towns has started to take the reins as the offensive force of the team. Towns is averaging 28.2 PPG over his past five games and has attempted 20 or more field goals in four of those five games. However, this has not translated into winning for the Knicks. The Knicks are just 2-3 over those five games, making them 4-4 since Brunson’s injury. New York is now just 2.5 games ahead of the Pacers in the Eastern Conference and trying to stay afloat as they await Brunson’s return.
The Mavericks are playing better basketball heading into this matchup with the Knicks. It looked like their season was on a historically bad downward spiral after Luka Doncic was unexpectedly traded to the Lakers. Not only did they lose their franchise superstar seemingly out of nowhere, but soon after the trade, Kyrie Irving went down with a season-ending injury, and the newly acquired Anthony Davis also got hurt. It looked like a nightmare end to the season was ahead for the Mavericks after losing nine out of ten games to start the month of March. However, the Mavericks have won back-to-back games. Even more importantly, Anthony Davis returned to the court for Dallas in last night’s win over the Nets. The Mavericks are currently just 0.5 a game back from the 9-seed in the Western Conference. With Davis back on the floor, Dallas could end the regular season strong and get into the postseason.
Anthony Davis ended up playing 27 minutes last night against Brooklyn, but Dallas might try to take it easy with their star center on the second night of a back-to-back. If Davis doesn’t play or is on very limited minutes, Karl-Anthony Towns should find a lot of success scoring in the paint. The Mavericks’ two other big men, Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II, are still injured. Dallas doesn’t have a real interior presence without these two big men. Towns should take advantage of the lack of post defenders and dominate on the offensive end. Towns won’t need to do much work on the defensive end since the Mavs have no real scoring threat on the interior. That will allow him to concentrate on the offensive end and have a big scoring night. My favorite bet is for Towns to score over 28.5 points, something he has done in three of his past five games.
