Amen Thompson injury update: 3/25/25 vs. the Hawks

Updated:

Just before Rockets vs. Hawks tipped off on Tuesday night, Amen Thompson was scratched from the lineup due to ankle soreness.

Tari Eason entered the Rockets’ starting five in Thompson’s place.

Holding Thompson out is likely a precautionary move as the playoffs loom on the horizon — the second-year talent missed six consecutive games with an ankle sprain between March 10 and March 19.

In his return on March 21, Thompson logged 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and seven steals against the Heat. He then played 31 minutes in Houston’s next game, which came Sunday against the Nuggets. The 22-year old notched 11 points and five boards in that one.

On the season, Thompson averages 14.0 PPG along with 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.7 combined stocks. His impact has been integral in the Rockets’ surge to second place in the Western Conference standings en route to the team’s first postseason berth since the 2019-2020 NBA season.
