Late in the third quarter of Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, Jayson Tatum ($11,000) injured his ankle after landing on the foot of Domantas Sabonis ($9,200), who was called for a Flagrant 1 foul for impeding Tatum’s landing space. After spending some time on the bench, Tatum did shoot the free throws but made his way to the locker room right after.

Prior to exiting, Tatum contributed 25 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in 26 minutes.
Boston is currently on a six-game road trip with games left against Phoenix, San Antonio and Memphis. Its five games behind Cleveland for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and 7.5 games on top of New York. With 10 games left in the regular season, Boston will more than likely be conservative with Tatum, making sure he’s ready for the playoffs.
