Cade Cunningham Injury Update: Tuesday 3/25/25 vs. the Spurs

Cunningham was a late scratch for Sunday’s win over the Pelicans with calf soreness, and the guard has been listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup vs. the Spurs. Tim Hardaway Jr. (ankle) is also questionable after missing Sunday vs. New Orleans.

Cunningham has blossomed into a star this season, averaging 25.7 points, 9.1 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game with a 32.1% usage rate, which ranks ninth in the NBA. The former the No.1 overall pick was named to his first All-Star team earlier this season and behind Cunningham’s impressive play, the Pistons currently are the No.6 seed in the Eastern Conference, after they finished dead last in the NBA last season.

If Cunningham is out again Tuesday, Dennis Schroder should start for the second straight game and will be an appealing DFS target against the Spurs, who rank 26th in defensive rating since the All-Star break. Starting in place of Cunningham on Sunday, Schroder finished with 16 points, five assists and one rebound across 34 minutes (28.75 FPTS). Jalen Duren, Malik Beasley, and Tobias Harris will also be in line for more usage if Cunningham sits. With the guard inactive Sunday, Duren led the team with a 27% usage rate – which is the largest rate he has seen this season – and the center went off for 22 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists (40 FPTS).

The Pistons are 3-3 with Cunningham inactive this season, but they should still be favorites for this matchup vs. the Spurs when the lines are released on DraftKings Sportsbook.
