PG/SG, Stephon Castle, San Antonio Spurs at Toronto Raptors, $6,800
Castle is coming off the best performance of his career, posting a double-double worth 52.25 FPTS across 34 minutes vs. the 76ers. The rookie is now amassing 37.6 FPTS per game in his last five and Castle’s great play has been a product of both Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) and De’Aaron Fox (finger) being sidelined. These two players are out for the season and with Wembanyama and Fox unavailable for the last five, Castle has started and led the team with a 29.1% usage rate, while ranking second on the team in playing time at 30.8 minutes per game.
Tonight, Castle is facing a Raptors team that will be without Jakob Poeltl (rest) and with the center off the floor this season, Toronto’s defensive rating has dropped to 117.8, which would be the third worst defensive rating in the league if it was their average for the season. This game’s total is the second-highest on the slate at 234 points and the Raptors are only favored by two points on DraftKings Sportsbook. In this strong setting, Castle is a terrific combination of safety and upside at only $6,800.
SF/PF, Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, $8,700
While this is a tough matchup vs. the Thunder, who lead the league in defensive rating this season, Leonard is one of the best spends on the slate with this being a crucial tilt for the Clippers. Los Angeles has won five games in a row, as they chase the Warriors for the No.6 seed in the Western Conference, which of course is important, as the top-six seeds in each conference avoid the Play-In Tournament. The Clippers are only a half game behind Golden State and during this five-game winning streak for Los Angeles, Leonard has been playing his best basketball of the season.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP is scoring 48.2 FPTS per game and with every game important for the Clippers, Leonard has seen no restrictions and is logging 33.6 minutes per game. Leonard is producing 1.2 FPTS per minute with a 28.6% usage rate this season and he has 50 FPTS upside tonight.
SF/PF, Justin Edwards, Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks, $4,500
Edwards has taken full advantage of the huge role he has seen for the tanking 76ers. Edwards has been starting for Philadelphia and he has scored at least 31 FPTS in three straight games. During this stretch, Edwards is handling a 20% usage rate and he ranks second on the team with 36 minutes per game. Furthermore, Edwards is shooting 53.6% from the field and 47.6% on three pointers.
Up next for the forward is an awesome matchup against the Hawks, who rank second in pace and 17th in defensive rating this season. Additionally, Atlanta is playing their second game in two nights. This game’s total is the highest on the slate at 240 points on DraftKings Sportsbook and Edwards is an elite value play in this setting, that is a strong bet for his fourth straight effort of over 30 FPTS.
