The NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami is on Sunday and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Build a โPick Setโ (2+ drivers) and decide if they will outperform their stat projections. Here is some advice to help build your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami.
Kyle Larson: Fast Laps – 23.5
Pick6 Play: More
Rename the track: Larsonland-Miami. Homestead is a home game for Kyle Larson. He won the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday night (30 fast laps). He should have won the Xfinity Series race on Saturday as wellโhe lapped the field up to fifth place! There was no chill. He wrapped the wall every lap. His lead stretched to nearly 20 seconds over the second-place car. Did he back off the wall? Not a chance. Larson posted 51 fast laps in that race. Across 11 starts at Homestead, he has led an impressive 626 laps. And letโs not forget: he also recorded 40 fast laps at the intermediate track in Las Vegas.
Austin Cindric: Finishing Position – 12.5
Pick6 Play: Worse
The No. 2 Penske Ford wasnโt impressive in practice. More importantly, Austin Cindric hasnโt been impressive this season. Has he ever truly stood out? There are rumblings that Cindric could lose his seat if Josh Berry continues to shine. Practice times can be overhyped in the Gen-7 racing package, where the field is largely equal in terms of equipment. The deciding factor? Talent. And Cindric doesnโt seem to have much of it. Thatโs harsh, but there are stronger drivers in the series.
Other factors come into play, too. Cindric will start with decent track position, but lining up in the fourth row isnโt a game changer. The biggest factor is the track itselfโMiami. Homestead-Miami is unique, and track history matters. Cindric hasnโt excelled here. His best Cup Series finish at this 1.5-mile intermediate track is 12th, with 27th- and 19th-place results in his other two Homestead races. He looked solid last week, but this isnโt just another oval. This could still be a decent season for Cindric, but this weekend isnโt shaping up to be a great one.
